HOLIDAY MEAL PAIRING
A classic Christmas Turkey dinner is a tough one to pair as each mouthful is usually a mix of flavours, weights and textures. The right wine needs show rich fruit, bright acidity and have enough body or structure to stand up the richness of the meal.
This wine is one of my favourite Christmas dinner pairings. When you taste it you will immediately sense the soul and personality of the wine. The nose shows bold aromas of dark berry and dried red fruits along with wonderfully delicate floral tones of rose petal and violets.
The palate is a marriage of bright ripe red fruit and dark berries, savoury earthy spices and dried herbs of sage and thyme. The texture is elegant and well balanced. The finish showcases sweet tannin that provides fine structure and velvety aftertaste.
If you Turkey dinner features full flavoured gravy, root vegetables, cranberry sauce, peas, and stuffing with red berries and savoury spices then this is your wine.
Let breathe for 45 minutes prior to serving.
